Maddie - As we took our final bow, I took a quick glance over to Minnie and thought how lucky I am to have met such a phenomenal dancer and friend. Dancing alongside my other 'm' felt so natural as we performed both a contemporary and classical duo together. Like every dancer would say, there is no greater than gazing out into a theatre full of people acknowledging us and our performance. After many hours in the studio, to feel the audience's appreciation is something that I never take for granted. My love and passion for this art was oozing out of me as the curtain made its final decent. The Vocational Ballet College's Annual Performance was a huge success thanks to the backstage Staff & Crew, all choreographers, dancers but most importantly Miss Sonja Dene and Miss Viktoria Rosek. I enjoyed every minute. Would do it all again tomorrow if I could! x | Minnie - After enduring many rehearsals the day finally came where we got to perform for a large and loving audience filled with friends, family and our ballet family. This was a special time as we had the opportunity to share the stage with one another, soaking up the experience and adoring our time on and off the stage. We both had five dances to perform that night which were all just as fun as the other. Our contemporary duo choreographed by Jessi Borg which won us a scholarship to the Sydney Dance Company was a thrill to perform, along side our Classical Duo by Miss Marie, a Fosse routine to Bye Bye Blackbird choreographed by Miss Simone was such a fun escape as this was the first jazz routine I had danced since the age of 8! I got to perform my variation, Gamzatti and Act 2 of Giselle. Giselle was one of my favourites having to portray a character and getting to act along side Maddie was one highlight of the night. x |
