Maddie
At 15 years of age, Madeleine has accomplished so much for someone so young. Madeleine was chosen to be an Australian Ballet Level 4 invitee 2013 & 2014, in addition to the Queensland Ballet Junior Extension Program 2013 & 2014. She was the youngest dancer selected to perform in acclaimed choreographer Natalie Weir’s production of “Carmen Suite” working along side of the Expressions Dance Company artists. In 2013, Madeleine was selected by an international jury out of 128 competitors, as a finalist in the Alana Haines Australasian Awards held biannually. Earlier in the year she revisited New Zealand to compete in the Australasian awards again were she was a quarter finalist. Madeleine has completed her RAD Advanced 2 examination and will attempt her Solo Seal Award in 2015. She is also eligible to compete in the prestigious Geneé competition held in London. In September, Madeleine received outstanding reviews as the lead role of “Snow Queen” in Brisbane City Youth Ballets production of “The Snow Queen”. Recently, Madeleine danced alongside 170 other dancers in her age group at The McDonalds Scholarship. She made it through to the Semi Finals with only 20 other dancers of a high standard. Madeleine has a big year ahead but she is eager to improve and progress in her dancing career.
